The CBC MED Programme aims to promote sustainable and harmonious cooperation at the Mediterranean Sea Basin level by offering solutions to the challenges facing the region, and further developing its unexploited potential.

CBC MED has encouraged and promoted the direct inclusion of human capital in the different projects and activities financed, which is one of the major pillars of success of the programme.

The cross border cooperation aspect of the programme has highly increased our knowledge and shaped our perception of the different Mediterranean countries and cultures. Engaging people from the different shores of the Mediterranean has linked together the intercultural competencies of the region, which fundamentally helps us recognise cultural diversity and adapt to it.

By bringing together governments, NGOs, the private sector and civil society, the programme has taught us to overcome the focus on our differences – which is a source of conflict and ignorance – and to find common grounds for the progress and development of the region on the social, economic, and environmental levels.

Working together, recognising our differences, and reconciling our common values and traditions helps to fight the disparities and inequalities, reaching a better mutual understanding, transferring a valuable know-how, hence ensuring the prevalence of peace and prosperity in the region.

Biography

Diana is currently the Programme Manager and Team Leader of a strategic pilot cross border cooperation project financed by the EU under the ENPI CBC MED Programme. She has extensive experience in the Euro-Mediterranean region managing and developing project concepts on a range of pressing economic, social and environmental issues.

Throughout her 7 years of experience in the Euro-Med region, she has successfully identified and developed strategic partnerships on the local & regional levels, tailored solutions to particular challenges facing public-private partnerships, and implemented various development projects. Diana has worked directly with governments, trade & commerce professionals, private institutions and NGOs towards the efficient completion of projects and policy reforms.

Diana holds a Bachelor Degree in Political Studies from the American University of Beirut (AUB), and a Masters Degree in Human Resource Management from the University of Leeds (United Kingdom)
