More than 120 people took part in Tunis last Monday in the first public event on the cooperation and funding opportunities offered by the ENI CBC Med Programme.
In their opening speeches, Ms. Moufida Jaballah, President of the general authority for international cooperation at the Ministry of Development, Investment and International Cooperation of Tunisia, and Mr. Mario Giuseppe Varrenti, Head of section “governance, social sectors and sustainable development” at the EU Delegation in Tunisia, have highlighted the importance of the Programme for Tunisia and within the European Neighbourhoud Policy. “Through this platform, 70 Tunisian actors have cooperated with 333 organizations from 11 Mediterranean countries,” said Ms. Jaballah. “The Programme complements a comprehensive package of EU financial support to Tunisia worth up to €300 million annually,” explained Mr. Varrenti.
Participants were then introduced to a selection of tangible achievements of two projects implemented in Tunisia, namely LACTIMED and LANDCARE MED. Presentations have highlighted the challenges related to the management of Euro-Mediterranean cooperation projects and practical tips to ensure efficient implementation and smooth collaboration between partners.
Finally, the thematic objectives and priorities of the ENI CBC Med Programme were discussed with participants as well as the main features of the first call for proposals.
